Stage 5 – Oil Pan

It was only a matter of time before we ditched the stock oil pan in favour for more volume and less oil starvation.

The moroso pan seems a bit odd. I’m not sure if i trust lateral G’s. Anyway, it is what it is.

Installation is pretty straight forward.

OEM pickup. The B18B pickup is shorter than the Type R. This leads us to believe the Type R pan is deeper.

The stock windage tray. The funny part is not many cars have that as an stock OEM part. kudo’s to Honda.

My 420A it’s a known issue for crank walk and it’s mostly from oil being whip’d around – a windage tray might have helped.

We forgot to take any more photo’s. The moroso pan fits perfectly. The install was a bit messy. There are no groves for the OEM gasket to stay in place on the moroso. In the enda small bead of honda bond to let it be tacky and will do a final torque in the morning.
